Thirteen from Thirteen

In 2002 I was invited to show my growing collection of handmade books at a calligraphy & lettering arts festival, the theme of which was ‘Thirteen’. Coincidentally, my UK bookarts group, Quarto, decided that the theme for our quarterly book exchange would be ‘Thirteen’. So I was committed to making a book on this subject. After my first book there were still ideas swimming around in my head and I wondered if it might be possible to come up with 13 different books with varying content and structure. This section
